Because in Miami that's how you do brunch properly. This was a recommendation from our friends and so we absolutely had to go. I looked at a couple of options on the menu but I had to try the fried chicken, watermelon and waffles. The resulting plate that showed up could have murdered a few happy people.
Unless if you have a healthy appetite, eating for two, or have just finished a back-breaking workout, I suggest you share this with someone else. It was literally the size of my face and it smelled absolutely heavenly.
The waffles are made with a sharp cheddar from Vermont which is a great compliment to the fried chicken. And let's face it, anything with cheese in it is totally my jam. As for their honey hot sauce and bourbon maple syrup? If I could have fit these two little condiments in my suitcase, I would have taken it home. So addictive.
The chicken itself was fried to perfection, juicy, and incredibly filling. While I wouldn't have had watermelon normally with chicken, it cooled everything down and brought just the right amount of sweetness to the palate.
You don't need an appetizer when you order this one but if you're still hankering for nibbles after that, pick up an order of the classic buttermilk biscuits. They're heaven.
